Yona Friedman is one of the most recognized architectural thinkers, specifically on the postwar period. During his creative journey, he developed various innovative theories into sociology, visual arts, filmmaking, and many other subjects. Miami Design Agenda unveils his first art project on the United States, in the Miami Design District. This public sculpture is presented in collaboration with the Miami Design District and curated by Alexandra Cunningham Cameron and Gean Moreno, Curator of Programs at ICA Miami.
Yona Friedman is an innovative artist that sits his concept on the freedom and autonomy of the user or inhabitant. He protects the relationship between the human being and nature. His work consists of architectural proposals that translate as drawings, models, publications, films, and many others.
Yona Friedman has created projects for international exhibitions and institutions, including documenta, Kassel, Germany; Serpentine Gallery, London; and the Venice Biennale, and other important projects, that greatly contributed to the art world.
You can find Yona Friedman‘s work at the Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Centre Pompidou, Paris, and other important places all around the world. He currently lives in Paris, where he continues to impress the art world, with his amazing creations.
In collaboration with the Institute of Contemporary Art and Miami Design District, Yona Friedman unveiled his first public project in the Paradise Plaza, on Miami Design District. This project was named of Space-Chain Phantasy-Miami 2019, and it promotes the development of these public spaces, namely on Miami Design District.
This public sculpture is presented in collaboration with the Miami Design District and curated by Alexandra Cunningham Cameron and Gean Moreno, Curator of Programs at ICA Miami.
