First of all we have to be clear that Design Miami is one the best if not the best show featuring high-end design and amazing artists.
This fair reunites gallerists, curators, designers, brands and enthusiasts all over the world and it is defenitly somewhere you want to be right now.
2014 brings Audi has sponsor of the fair which allowed touring the fair with exhibition manager Brandon Grom, but most importantly it brings us new astonishing exhibitions and events and you have to stand up for this!
This is the first year that a local gallery from Miami is present in the fair. Emmet Moore’s work is presented by Gallery Diet, the pieces from this artist are made out of abandoned materials like beer cans and a basketball for example. His pieces are colorful and cheerful.
2.Cristina Grajales Gallery – Sebastian Errazuriz
Latin design is the new black so in the Design Miami fair had to have some latin booth, this booths floor is covered with a golden carpet created by Hechizoo Textiles. Chilean-born and New York-based designer Sebastian Errazuriz exhibits in this fair some of his works including one of his transform cabinets.
Cristina Grajales booth also includes Amazonian tribe spirit represented by the artist Pedro Barrail who makes handcrafted and printed chairs with ethnic Amazonian inspiration.
3. Gallery Seomi’s booth and Los-Angeles based Edward Cella booth
The interest for ceramics and furniture made with it has increased over the years. Gallery Seomi’s brings to Design Miami a collection of sofas and chairs finished with glazed clay instead of upholstery, the works exposed in this booth include the artist Lee Sam with the piece octopus chair (picture below), for example.
With imperfect yet artistic and interesting ceramic furniture is Adam Silverman represented by Edward Cella gallery. He doesn’t care about the finishes of their pieces which gives it an almost rustic look.
Top designers and idolized interior designers are also present in this fair. From a university point a view Galerie Patrick Seguin made furniture for a house with this inspiration. His booth is a re-creation of some staple mid-century modern furniture and pieces. Seguin’s pieces had has guide lines the work of Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, and Le Corbusier.
Being a trend and very important fair in the area of design Design Miami 2014 reunites a lot of contemporary designers.
There are very important and popular booths in Design Miami. Two of them are the most crowed and people with smartphones on hand inevitably catch the essence of this very interesting booths.
4. Studio’s Job’s with Carpenters Workshop Gallery
It’s a tribute to time because it gathers some of the most eccentric clocks from very well-known buildings. They are exquisite and you never ever seen this before, that’s why they captured all the attention. A clock is a very used object anyway and it has been stylish for a long time, this ones are authentic pieces of art.
5. Design Curio booth
Close to the Studio’s Job booth there is a booth which is very creative and It is a new one that let’s and invites designers to create. This booth will mix a lot of styles and work of designers, it is called Design Curio. This experimental booth idea and concept was created by Patrick Parrish Gallery.
6. Studio ROLU
Grid has an inspiration the studio ROLU made furniture out of just black line grids that create an optical illusion world.
7. François Fossard with the top European design brands Delightfull and Boca do Lobo
This brands, Delightfull and Boca do Lobo, will be in a showroom in a partnership with François Fossard . This spaces on the Design Miami are cutting edge with the quality, luxurious and uniqueness materials presented by this brands. It is an harmonious and brilliant work, you have to go to this booth to appreciate the most luxurious and brilliant pieces of interior design working together and creating the most beautiful cosmos.
