Bass Museum is very unique due to the fact that they exhibit both historical collections and contemporary art. They have not only an amazing collection of Antiques but also they exhibit contemporary artists, which is very out of the ordinary. The good thing is, no matter what your passion is (either more Historical collections ore more contemporary art) you will always find something you like at this Museum.
Right now they are exhibiting Eve Sussman a British-born American artist that works with film and video installation as well as sculpture and photography. She’s based out of Brooklyn NY where she owns a company – Rufus Corporation. This exhibition has two main video installations – Rape Of The Sabine Woman and 89 Seconds at Alcázar.
Bass is also dedicated to helping the community! This is why they have education programs and provide affordable resources to help Miami’s childhood understand a little better what art is and how to grow their creativity. One example is the Lindemann Family Creativity Center.
Also, if you’re looking into doing something different in Miami, besides going to a club or a Pool Party, you should go and check out Bass’s events. They have events all year long like last year they had their “Hot Nights Cool Jazz” for people to go, relax and have a good time hearing to some “cool jazz” in a “hot night”. hehe
